My 週末

ugh, so the electricty in my room was out this weekend again. so i kinda spent this weekend without internet. 最近は慣れてきたけど。でもやっぱり不便ね。

so, i spent the greater part of my sunday doing yard work. we had to dig out some plants and plant new ones. also had to give feed to the plants. 暑かったから結構大変だったね。でも、いい汗かけましたねぇ。最近運動不足だからちょうどよかったのかも。

went to watch Friends with Benefits. HILARIOUS!! i really liked it. the bf said the storyline is too predictable and played out.... -___- だって、そんなの最初からわかってたことじゃん。題名見ただけで絶対読めたよ、終わり。gosh. i enjoyed it. really funny. but, there was this really old lady next to me, making it kinda awkward. i can bet you she was definitely not part of the target audience. でも、超食い気味で見てた（笑）i would definitely recommend it if you want some laughs.

海の日 Fun!

yesterday, i had a day off from work because it was 海の日. so, i made the bf take a day off too and went on a date :)

楽しかったです♪ first, we went to harajuku crepe in beverly hills. 超超超超うまかった。i got one filled with strawberries and banana with nutella and whipped cream. まじ最高。遠くなければまた行きたい。too bad it is actually kinda far...

and then, off to the century city mall to watch Super 8. good movie. i really liked it. the bf thought the ending was kinda lame, but i think that's probably the best they could do. だって、他にあんまり終わり方ないじゃん？イイと思ったんだけどね。ちょっと色々と大げさなところもありましたが、良かったです。

for dinner, we went to bj's with the guys. i was supposed to go out with some girls from work along with the guys, but the girls bailed, so it was just me and the guys again... -__- 話がつまらんつまらん。だからお前らはモテないんだよ！っていう感じの会話ばっか。ま、慣れてるからいいんだけどさ。it was a really nice day spent with the bf, but i kinda wish we coulda spent more time together. we were both tired so we called it quits a bit early. またやりたいなぁ。

The Hangover Part II

couldn't decide on whether to watch hangover 2 or super 8. ended up going for hangover 2 tho, since we thought super 8 would be crowded. なんか、1より良くないって聞いていたから、正直あんまり期待していなかった。でも、想像以上に面白かったし良かったと思う。

it was really funny. i mean, there were a lot more darker parts to it, like i heard, but it was still good. the whole patter was exactly the same as the first one. maybe, more of a twist would have helped. ま、でも、分かりやすくていいのかも？しかしまぁ、バンコクは衝撃的ですな。the place where the wedding was being held seemed like a really pretty place. maybe it was phuket? that's thailand, right??? でも、バンコクってすごいね。ちょっと汚らしいかも。but it seems like a really intersting place. it's a transvestite heaven so... lol. stu was great. :) i thought teddy was cute. mason lee. but his acting is a bit awkward. もうちょっとうまくやってほしいですね。

it was good. would definitely watch it again if i had the chance.

WOW

it has been way too long. but that's not entirely my fault. blogger was acting kinda funky everytime i tried to log in. ま、遊んでたからいいけどさ。




so, i had two weeks of pure fun! :) so, my friend in germany came back and i also had two weeks off work. だから、そのコと結構遊びましたね。遊んだと言っても、ほとんど映画やテレビ見ながらおしゃべりしたりしてただけだけどね。あっ！後、ちょっぴりセフレみたいになっちゃいました。>.< 彼がいいって言ってるからいいんだけどね。彼のエッチもいいけど、セフレ君とのエッチも結構．．．just that he seemed to have a hard time keeping it up. lol. なんか、知ってる（友達って意味）と変なんだって～。




anyways, the movies i watched: thor, little fockers, the dilemma, green hornet, true grit, no strings attached, defiance. i think that's all of them. all of them besides thor were redbox rentals. ほとんど面白かったよ。最近映画あんま見てないから楽しかったね。



aaaanddddd, LAS VEGAS!!! just came back yesterday. it was so much fun!! stayed at vdara, which is a pretty new hotel and really nice. the bf said trump was better. でも、結構ストリップの中心に位置してたから、場所的には良かったね。oh, and i won like $125 when i put in $20, so that was good! and i got a $50 marguerita. it was sooooo goooooood. and the bf paid for it. haha. 高いね。ありがと。




そんなこんなで色々あった2週間でしたね。楽しかったです！

Date??

今日は彼のお店訪問に行ってまいりました。it's really far... seriously.... and i have to take the 5 freeway, which really sucks. there are so many drivers and trucks and they suck too.... もう大変。and the roads are really bumpy too. i thought the 10 was bad but the 5 is pretty darn bad too.

で、やっと着いたかと思うと、超治安悪そうなところでした。ま、関係ないからいいけどさ。it's monday so apparently, the store was too busy in the am. so, we were sitting around and i started watching the social network. it's actually really interesting. too bad i couldn't finish it or pay too much attention to it. 何のスイッチが入ったのかは知らないけど、欲情しちゃった彼に流されて私もアッサリ誘惑に負けちゃいました。そんなこんなであまり一緒に過ごせなかったけど、久し振りの二人水入らずって感じでしたね。ま、楽しかったです♪

Due Date

had a movie date with the bf tonight. 久しぶりだったね。最近お互いの家や仕事のことで忙しかったから、ゆっくりする時間無かったしね。だから久しぶりのデートは楽しかった。

we first went to the movies to watch due date. the one with robert downey jr. and the guy from the hangover. zach something... lol. 前々から見たいねって言ってたから結構楽しみだった。で、映画事態は期待を裏切らなかったね。面白かった。but man, it was full of profanities and some gross stuff. lol. でも、笑えた。i think it was a good movie.
for dinner, we went to chin-ma-ya for dinner. the gardena store. we tried their pa-ko, but it was kinda gross... :( 彼は新しくできた辛みそラーメン、私は坦々麺を。からっかった．．．and i guess i wasn't very hungry because i couldn't even finish my ramen. i guess it's good for not getting fatter??

China Blue

i think that was the name of the film. i watched it last week in one of my classes. it discusses dormitory labor in china, a fast growing trend. 人があふれ帰る中国では、今や世界でもトップを走る勢いでの経済的急成長を遂げている。そんななか、犠牲になる人たちももちろんいる。the film is about these people.

in this particular film, the focus is on a workers in a jeans factory. these people are made to live in the dorms provided by the factory and made to work under horrendous conditions for very little pay. でも、写してたのは、マシな方。他はもっとひどいらしい。the workers have to work long hours and are not allowed to yawn, talk, or anything without permission. many working under such conditions are young women. 私より若いコがいっぱい写ってた。そう考えるといかに自分が恵まれてるか重い知らさせるね。

all this is done to keep the costs low so that china can compete with international markets. as a consumer of such goods, i cannot help but feel guilty. でも、だからと言って、その分いっぱいお金を使いたい訳ではない。ものすごいジレンマ。while i would like to advocate for their workers' rights, i still like my cheap stuff. 複雑です。

Jackass 3D

last night, the bf and i went to watch Jackass 3D. i wasn't too sure what to expect but man, they sure went way over any expectations i had.

最初に言いたいのが、あんまり3Dだった意味がわかんない。飛び出してきたものは極僅かだし、ほとんど普通の映像っぽかった。it really didn't seem to have much point to being 3D. it's just more money. -___- it especially sucked for me because i have glasses and the 3d glasses don't do a very good job of keeping up on top of my regular glasses. had to keep holding on to them. lol.

ま、とにかくすごかったです。it was seriously one of the grossest films i've ever seen. i mean, its funny and all. but very gross. nudity, feces, and pain, all rolled up into one. ホント、よくあんだけ色々思いつくねって思う。ある意味、感心。but if you want a good laugh and aren't easily grossed out, this is a pretty fucked up but good movie.

Easy A & Chego

last night, the bf and i decided to watch a movie. after some haggle over what to watch, we settled on "Easy A". it's been advertised on meebo for a while and had good reviews, so we gave it a try.

結論的には面白かった。emma stone was HOT! :) hehe. those corsets looked scorching. でも、彼は以外にダメだったみたい。何か、コーセットってダメらしい。私はセクシーだと思うけど。ま、とにかく肌の露出が多かったね。but man, i got so many phone calls over the phone during the movie so i kinda missed some parts here and there. darn. stupid mom. -__- but the story was relatively easy to understand. kewl parents, tho. i wish my mom was a kickass as olive's mom.
で、晩御飯はといいますと、この間から気になっていたところに。its right down the street from my current apartment and it's called chego. it's kinda like a asian fusion place. 何か、結構人気みたいで、一度行ってみたかったんです。we ended up getting the pork bowl thing. ま、、、お豚さん自体はめちゃウマだったんですが、、、there was a bunch of stuff on the bowl besides meat. and... that wasn't exactly the greatest. すっごい複雑な味で、結構辛かった。お肉だけならおいしいのに。ちょっぴり残念でしたね。Currently listening to: ムーンライト - くず

Labor Day お遊び

labor day. you get a day off but so do a lot of other places. meaning a lot of places are closed. so what do you do?? yea, we had the same question too.

the bf and i ended up finding this miniature golf place on yelp called putting edge and we decided to give it a try. 何か、暗闇の中で、glow するパット、ボール、などは使ってやるゴルフ。everythng was glow in the dark. lol. it was really interesting. in additon to the mini golf, the place also has a couple arcade games and 2 air hockey tables. ま、時間をつぶすにはちょうどいいかも。でも、ちょっぴり高め。一人$10.50. 出来ればもうちょっと安くして欲しいですな。but it was fun. for experience. they had some pretty interesting holes. too bad there's only one course so that once you're done, you're done. took us about an hour to get through the entire thing. and thats with us shooting at the same hole a couple of times.

after that, we decided to watch a movie. the other guys. 結構面白いって聞いたから。it was either that or scott pilgrim. 感想: 思ったほど面白くなかった。it gave you some food for thought. but not so much the laugh factor. もうちょっと面白いのかと思った。overall, the film was just decent. i did stick around for the very end tho. a lot of people left before that last bit after the credits. でも、知ってたから見れた。えへへ。

Grown Ups & Food Trucks

last night, the bf and i decided to watch Grown Ups, the Adam Sandler movie. 事前にネットで調べたら、あんまりいい評価ではなかったけど、時間的に合ったし、二人してみたかったから、見に行くことに。dang, the tickets are so pricey now... -_- two of us for $25. grrrr... we got a small popcorn and drink, which is like an additional $10. so we spent like $35 just to watch a movie. 高すぎません？

anyways, Grown Ups was actually pretty good. あんまり評価良くなかったからそんなに期待してなかった分、良かったのかも。the jokes were funny and while the acting was a bit cheesy at times, it was good. kinda reminds you of the good ol' times. 将来、ああいう家族像がいいな～。いつまでも子供みたいにふざけられるのはいいよね。oh, and its nice to be able to make mean comments about one another as jokes. just cuz that's how i roll. :)

で、その後は遅い晩御飯に。あんまりお腹すいてなかったから軽く食べれるものを求め、よくフード･トラックが出没するアリアに。sure enough, there was one. and it was a ramen one that i'd never even seen before. haha. it was called Happy Cup Noodle. 名前の通りカップ麺かと思いきや、本格のラーメン屋台でした。びっくり。they had quite the variety in their menu. hehe. so i got the shio ramen with ajitama and the bf got miso ramen with extra moyashi. うん。結構イケる。ちょっと時間掛かるけど、ま、本格的に作ってるから仕方無いけどね。i wanna try their fried rice next time. haha.

and then, the bf points accross the street and BAM! kogi!!! 大好きです。ラーメンでそこそこお腹一杯になりながらも、Kogiを逃がすことができず、列に並ぶことに。it wasn't that long so the wait wasn't too bad. ended up getting 2 short rib tacos for my bf and i. やっぱり美味しかった～。しかも、今回はライムがあったから、ラッキー。adding that little bit of lime makes it deeelishious. でも、口の中にできものがある私には結構残酷な結果に．．．美味しいけど痛い。悲しいですっ！(ザブングル加藤風)でも、満足でした。また太りそうだけど、、、

She's Out of My League

just finished watching it! it was so so. not as great as i expected. i mean, i've been wanting to see it for a while so there was a pretty high expectation. もっと面白かと思った。ま、別に面白くないという訳ではないけれど、今一パンチに欠けた。

the bf asked me if i would actually recommend this to someone and i wasn't too sure if i would so... i guess it wasn't so great. but it was a nice relaxation time. i finally finished writing my final paper that's due tomorrow for summer school. 時間掛かった～。でも、やっと終わったからゆっくり出来てよかった。ま、完全にダメな映画ではなかったからね。

one thing tho. do guys really shave down there? i mean, their testicles?? isn't it kinda difficult? the guy in the movie seemed to be having problems too... but he did say that it makes it look bigger so i guess there's a benefit? but yea, i hear quite a lot of guys do that nowadays. どうなんだろう？？興味があります

Translating

昨日は色々と忙しい一日となった。i was supposed to work but got the day off since a friend of my bfs' needed a japanese translator for interviews that he was conducting at AX (Anime Expo). 元々は彼がやるはずだったんだけど、彼の仕事の都合もあり、急遽私がやることに。でも、通訳って結構難しいからキライなんだよね～。

anyways, so i met the writers and photographers at the Westin Bonaventure in downtown, because that was where the interviews were being held. we had a couple preliminary questions for some of the interviewees ready but due to some kind of mix up, we weren't assigned any interview times. ということで、キャンセルか no show 待ちに。結局午前中はBeni と Danny Chung のインタビューに成功。both these people knew english so i wasn't of any use. there was supposed to be an opening to interview RSP but delays emerged and we ended up not getting it...

for lunch, we walked across the street, where they had a couple of different options and i ended up getting greek food. 初体験です。食べてみようとは思ってたんだけど、中々食べる機会が無くて、、、i really wanted mexican food, but everyone else wanted greek so i just went with that. i got the gyro sandwich, which was beef and lamb with pita and a bit of veggies. まぁまぁだった。食べたことの無い味。アレがラムだったのかな？わかんない．．．but yea, i wouldn't mind trying it again.

午後からは結構忙しくなった。歌手のMay'n と漫画家で「Black Lagoon」の作者のヒロエ・レイさんと日本のDJの方を何人かインタビューした。緊張した～。but it wasn't as bad as i thought. it was only 15 minutes so yea. but it was kinda nerve wracking when the interviewer asked questions that i wasn't prepared for. ま、そんなにはなかったけど。overall it was fun. i got to know some of the guys i worked with and i did meet semi-famous people. haha. oh! and i got an autograph! so that was nice :)

夜は彼と合流して早めの夕食を「本多屋」で。we ordered a couple of different dishes and the bill came out to about $40 including tip. a bit expensive, considering what we ordered. oh well...

after, we went back to my apartment and we ended up playing a bit of scrabble. i kicked his buttt. ♥ i've gotten significantly better. or maybe i had really good luck with my letters. whatever, i won!

で、久しぶりに映画を見に行った。ended up watching a late showing of "Get him to the Greek". it was quite funny, except that you really need to know the references. i'm sure i didn't even get half of them... and the bf complained about the british accent, whih i think is sexay~. hehe. 終わった頃はもう夜中。で今日は6時45分起き。疲れた～。（笑）

Babel

sometime last week, (i forget when. it was in class) i saw the movie Babel. wanted to see it for a long time since it was so hyped about when it was released. 見た後の感想は．．．いいけど、謎が多すぎ。最後の最後で何も分からない。

it takes place in 4 different countries, all related to each other on some level, although it may not be obvious at first. Morroco, Japan, United States, and Mexico. スケールがでかいのは確か。それも加わって本当に結構面白いと思った。the japan part was crazy. 菊池凛子の役柄が何がしたいのか今一わかんなかった。どんだけ欲求不満やねんって感じ。ちょっとウザかったかも。


and seriously, what is up with that ending?? (if you haven't watched the movie, you won't get this) what was written in that letter? what happened to that boy?? his brother??? what about those 2 children in the States???? マジで謎多すぎ。終わりぐらいきちっと終わって欲しい。argh

Boat House and Iron Man 2

last night, the bf came to pick me up from school and we went out on a date! :D ものすごく久しぶりのまともなデート。週末だとどうしても親までがしゃしゃり出てくるから．．．i know, it's weird. anyways, we decided to eat at the boiling crab in alhambra since i've wanted to try it since forever. but first, we decided to kill some time at my apartment since traffic was baaad. で、ちょっと小腹が空いたから、Pizza Rolls を焼いてみた。そしたら、彼が調子に乗って、もっと、さらにいっぱい焼いちゃって．．．出かけるときには結構お腹いっぱい -___-;

but we decide to go anyways. with traffic and all, we get to boiling crab around 8. BUT! it's still busy as heck. で、もういいか、と言うことで、違うレストランへ。we decide to go the boat house nearby as an alternative. they have a similar concept to boiling crab. ま、あーだこーだ言って、注文を決める: 1lb. of clams in their house special sauce in mild, 1 dungeness crab in the cajun sauce in mild, and we got 1lb of shrimp free in house special sauce mild. the bf had been there before but it was my first time so i was a bit excited. ちょっとオーダーがくるまでは時間かかったけど、新鮮っぽかった。ただ、ソースがいまいちかな？とにかく味が濃いかった。oh, and they use lots of garlic too. i'm sure i reeked of it. haha. overall, it was meh.

one funny thing that happened before dinner: when we went to boiling crab, the bf made a wrong turn and we ended up in the parking lot next door. だから、裏口から出ようといって、そっちに向かったら脇にゴミ入れを見て驚いた声を出す彼。surprised, i look over and ask what's wrong. he tells me he saw a foot sticking out of the dumpster. 冗談だと思った私をよそに、そのままU-Turnして、駐車場に戻る彼。で、見てみると、やはり、足。but when i looked at it, it had this yellow-ish color to it that made it totally look fake. but the bf insists that it looks real. だから、食べ終わってから、また見に行くことに。（ヒマでしょ？）で、今回見たら、すっごい怖かったね。it's because the light was gone so the color was hard to tell and when seen from the front, you can actually tell that wrinkles and such have been etched in. 結構本物っぽかった。彼はビビリだから、かなり怖がってたね。（笑）

so, after dinner, we drive around looking for something to do. we find a carnival taking place at a park so we decided to have a look. 小さいけど、色々あったよ。there were some rides, food, and a couple games. ちょっと面白そうだったけど、何もせずにすぐ帰った。で、結局映画を見ることに。we decided to watch iron man 2, since there's been so much hype about it. でも、正直あんまりいいとは思わなかった。sure its action packed and all but that's about it. 何か、長いのか短いのか分からない。it's fast paced, but it still seemed long. i liked the first one better. but scarlett johanson was hot! :)

全部見ました！でも、まぁまぁでした。ちょっと期待はずれ。i thought it'd be a lot more sadder but it wasn't too bad. 何か、以外とあっさり解決しちゃった。

i had heard that this movie, or at least the manga would be a total sobfest but i didn't cry at all. 泣き虫な私がですよ？ストーリーもなんか、浅かったし。後、榮倉奈々の演技もいまいちでしたね。こんなにボーっとした子今時いないと思う。i mean, sure, the plot was far from reality to begin with but her acting made it a lot worse. it's kinda old and i think her acting has improved in more recent movies/doramas.

overall, i don't think i would recommend this story to other people. 今一だからね。

知ってますか？originally, it was a manga. でも、私、この人の書くマンガの絵ってどうも気に入らなくて、中々読む気にはなれない。だから、大ヒットって書いてあっても読んだことがない。but then, they made it into a movie. 実写版ってヤツ？so i decided to give it a go.

i was streaming this online on veoh. it was in parts and i think i saw up to like half of part 6 of 7. で、何か手順を間違えて、リフレッシュしたら、なんと、'This video has been removed' だった！:O ガーン．．．だから途中のまま。いつか終わりが見れると良いな。

but judging from what i've seen so far, i like it :) which makes it all the more depressing that i can't finish it. *sigh* 井上真央カワイイ。一番萌え～って来たのが、初エッチのシーン。タクミがマユに「セックスしたい」って抱きついたとこ。頭の中で「キャー。エロい！！」とか思いながら。（笑）なんか、でも、初々しさというか、何だろう．．．押さえ切れない感情の感じがなんとも言えない。野性的な感じ。quite the turn on. haha.

but yea, sadly couldn't finish it. so i decided to start another movie instead, by the same author. 「僕は妹に恋をする」。i hope its good!

田中ファーム and Fired Up!

strawberries are in season!! so my mom, craving strawberries, decided to go ALL THE WAY to irvine, to a place called tanaka farm, to get strawberries.

遠くね？anywhooo, the strawberries were so expensive. $12.50 for 3 baskets. 高いよ！どんだけおいしいんだよ！they seriously better be pretty damn good. for myself, i got some grapes. those looked really good and were only $3.99/lb. what looked really good was the guacamole they sold. 試食してみたら、ムッチャおいしかってんけど、買おうとしたら、sold out... 残念！

once i got back to the apartment tonight, i noticed that the curtain that had broken last week was NOT fixed... なぜぇぇぇぇぇ。the manager said it'd get fixed on saturday. LIARS!!!! という訳で、またしばらくカーテン無しみたいです。トホホ．．．

oh, the bf and i finished watching the movie Fired Up! it was pretty darn funny. it's a cheerleading movie where these football players switch to cheerleading in order to go to cheerleading camp to fuck girls. pretty straight-forward. ま、で、本当の恋が芽生えて、みたいな。でも、本当に面白かったよ。they had some of the weirdest characters. and i'm assuming the thing is rated R, since they had some boobs showing. that might be some incentive for guys to watch. haha. it was seriously a pretty good movie, despite the fact that it must have been pretty low budget.

DATE NIGHT

so, the bf and i went out last night on a date night to watch, you guessed it! DATE NIGHT! starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey. (i hope i spelled those right....)

it was hilarious. so many sexual innuendos tho. でも、久しぶりに映画見に行ったから本当に楽しかった。ちょっとリアリティーに欠けるけど。as always, steve carell does a wonderful job. tina fey was really good too. and there were so many pretty big stars that had small roles. it was a big surprise. there was mark whalberg, mila kunis, james franco, leighton meester, etc. i really love leighton meester so it was a nice surprise seeing her in it.

映画にしては、ちょっと短いけど、ソレぐらいがちょうどいいと思う。最近の映画は長すぎるのが多いから。seriously hilarious and interesting. a must see :)

Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist

that's a long title. anywhoo, saw that last night with the bf on the roku, a machine that plays instant streaming stuff from netflix and what not. (<- 便利だよね) it was a cute lovestory and all but a bit long. i really thought Norah was pretty but the bf thinks otherwise... and i really thought Trish was ougly but the bf once again thinks otherwise... -___- 男ってホントバカね。そして単純。

so, once again, the movie was unnecessarily long. seriously... like that one scene at the recording studio... was that really necessary? all they did there was i think Norah orgasming. 別にいらないし。思わん？and dude, it took forever to find fluffy. by the time they found them, it was dawn. ちょっとさすがに遅すぎじゃない？いくらなんでもそんな時間からやってたら、コンサート終わる頃には会社とか学校とかあるでしょ？って思った。

however, the story was quite interesting in some respects. not the typical lovestory so that was good. plus, the gay bandmates made it pretty darn funny. haha. gotta love 'em.

on the other hand, it was our 3 year anniversary yesterday!! :) 早いね～。もう3年だぜ。ウチの従兄は3年目で別れたらしいから気をつけないと。な～んちゃって。ウチらは大丈夫でっす！
