First Day

today was the first day of school. man, i was not ready. 教科書とかぜんぜん買ってないし。ま、いつものことだけどね。good thing is that all my classes don't seem so bad. the professors all seem cool. so yeay! plus, i now only have one final on finals week. hehe. ラッキー :)

でも、初日にして寝ちゃった。（笑）in my global studies class. the prof was an interesting and funny guy. but i was just too tired. the temptation was irresistable. ま、ちょっとだけだけどね。other than that, i think i was a pretty good student today :)

well, the internet back at the apt is dead... -_- stupid verizon. i thought you would be better than time warner. for the most part, you are. but man, your customer service ain't that great... 困るんですけど～。早く直りますように！

finally got internet access! yeay! the new house we moved into as a temp housing while they rebuild my house didn't have internet and ATT was like, 'it'll be monday before you guys have internet'. -_- そんなに時間かかるって知らなかった。but there's still no internet in the house. cuz we don't have the modem. 火事で水浸しになってダメになっちゃった。but ATT wouldn't give us a new one because we're transferring service and not starting a new one. hence, we should still have that old router. ないんだもん。しょうがないじゃんって感じ。so i still have to go buy a router.

so, what's been going on the last couple of days? A LOT! for one, my mom left town to go on her cruise trip. YEAY! 自由がやってきたぜって感じ。i could not wait for her to leave. and she's gone for about 3 weeks so that is awesome! :) so, a story surrounding her leaving: her flight was scheduled for the 21st. but she thought it was the 20th. we didn't figure that out until we got to the check-in counter. 超時間の無駄。空港は遠いのに。。。so, the next day, we leave a bit early to return an item before going to the airport. halfway there, she remembers she forgot her purse with $$ and passports in it at home. so we have to go back. 大丈夫かよ！いくらなんでもミスりすぎ。無駄足ばっか。ホントバカみたい。

on the good side, with her gone, i was finally able to hang out with my japanese buddies yesterday. 女の子３人で喋りまくった。（笑）結構久しぶりだったからメッチャ楽しかった。一番びっくりしたのはやっぱり、婚約したコ。まだまだ結婚は先らしいけど。ま、まだ若いからね。we went out to eat olive gardens. it was my first time. it was decent. not bad. got the endless pasta bowl cuz it was the cheapest. でも、一回もおかわりしなかった。っていうか、最初のを全部終わらせることすらできなかったけどね。食べ過ぎた。

after getting the temp housing, moving was a big pain. there was so much crap cuz my mom bought so much stuff. 今すぐ必要じゃないものも買うから引っ越すとき、荷物がものすごい多かった。また、家ができたときの引越しを考えるとゾッとする。

彼が仕事を始めてからちょっとたつけど、正直結構キツイ。だって、he has no free time at all during the week. so right now, even tho i have a lot of freetime, he doesn't. だから遊べない。仕事だから文句言ったらダメって思っても、ついつい愚痴っちゃうね。だって、学生としては最後の年だから、遊びたい。but he's way too busy. *sigh* i guess i'll just have to get used to it.

finally watched it! the bf and i went to a theater that plays old movies and saw it for $3.25. not as cheap as the one in irvine, but cheap enough, right?? みんながいいって言うからすごい見たかったからうれしかったね！and it was cute. hehe. まさしく純愛って感じ？いいよね～そこまで愛されたら。Elie が裏やましね。

i'm not sure if it was just me but despite the fact that it was a kid's movie, it seemed a bit difficult... a lot of stuff was implied. like the miscarriage. and the fact that that kid's dad died. (did he die??) わかんない。。。子供の映画なのに難しい。。。。

overall tho, it was cute. and a nice break from all the hassle i'm having with the fire and my grandma being over. i miss freedom...

新型エンフルエンザ

so what's the big deal?? i'm not sure but freakin' japanese make such a big deal out of it. たかがエンフルで何人か感染してそのうちの極わずかが亡くなった。それだけでもうパニックじゃん？学校は休校。街から人が消える。人が歩いていてもマスクを頑丈につける。ちょっと大袈裟じゃね？every year, a couple hundred people die of influenza anyways. it's not that different. -_-

でも、NEWS の山Pと錦戸クンが感染したらしい。しばらくは療養だって。当たり前だけど。山Pは現在「ブザー・ビート」、錦戸クンは「オロトスの犬」の撮影中。どうなるのでしょうか？for the article, (japanese) click here.

芸人のオードリーの春日も感染したらしい。ま、こっちはあんま好きじゃないからどーでもいいけど。（笑）皆さん、早く良くなってくださいね。

火

with all these mountain fires going on in socal right now, you've got to admit, fire is scary. i mean, freakin' 1200 acres are burning right now. and very little is contained. このままどこまで燃えるやら．．．

と、そんな火事を身近に感じることができました。先週、実家が燃えちゃいました。最悪です。pretty much, the only thing that burned was the roof. but the entire house is drenched and the ceiling had collapsed in different places. like my room. where my laptop was. dude, i just bought that thing less than a month ago. 超悲しいです。結構気に入ってたんだけどね。というわけで、今パソコンがないです。

それに加えて、私の自慢の漫画コレクションが台無しです。i had a couple in my apartment and the poolhouse, which was safe, but i had a lot in my room. those are all ruined. it's paper. can't really withstand water, much less fire. which reminds me, my yearbook from high school is in my room...

家はほとんどダメみたいですね。建て直します。新築になっちゃいます。でも、なくしたものはデカイね。ま、不幸中の幸いは誰も怪我人が出なかったことかな？猫ちゃんズも無事だったし。
